Stop press - Ronald Welch "Captain of Foot" reprint released!

I had the best news when I logged on this morning.... the independent publishers [clicky] who are re-printing all of Ronald Welch's "Carey" series has just released "Captain of Foot"...!
Illustrated by the superb William Stobbs ... copyright the publisher..
...this volume covers the exploits of Christopher Carey who is serving as a lieutenant under Wellington in the Peninsular War....  only £16 delivered, superb quality (cloth bound, heavy paper) what are you waiting for!!

  1. One of the first pieces of Napoleonic fiction I borrowed from the school library (way back half a century ago), made a change from 'Just William'. Had to buy my own copy but it has dissapeared into the mists of time.

  2. Order placed - thanks for the link. We sometimes forget how much the likes of Bernard Cornwell have changed the approach to historical fiction and it's a delight to unearth these gems from an earlier age.

    3. Excellent - hoping mine will be at home when I get in tonight! Like you I was very impressed by the quality of the product - I bought the Galleon just before Christmas.. this isn't some shoddy photocopied copy in thin card covers.. clearly a labour of love....!
