Goodies on their way...

...it's looking to be a bumper year on the book release front...!  ๐Ÿ˜

Oh yes, the return of Stryker - difficult to believe that this one isn't going to push me even closer to that English Civil War project..

...now this one looks interesting - Simon Scarrow steps away from Rome and into WWII - and set in the Greek islands as well - this one will be going with me on holiday....

..Uhtred again, but it's still a Cornwell....

I've been looking forward to this one ever since I read the first book in the series back in 2013 [clicky]; I've long had an interest in Samurai era Japan and the first book was a blinder....  this will be going on holiday with me as well......

....after a very definite improvement in the second book [clicky] I shall look forward to this one...

  2. Don't you find them all a bit samey once you strip away the different periods? Hero in bother or heros crumpet in bother often from his own side. Sorts out the baddies then beocmes a hero... next novel sometimes this is over several volumes so vol 1 end hero in Bother ..... I gsave up on Scarrow and Cornwelll years ago Never yet tried Arnold Frankly the fact that I know the ECW puts me off

    1. Big Andy - isn't that the case for any type of literature?? Push comes to shove Shakespeare and Mills & Boon both have the same story line ie. boy meets girl, falls in love, obstacles are overcome and live happily ever after etcetc What sets old Will and M&B apart is the quality of the writing and how the story is told... I'd stand by any of the examples I gave to stand up well in the latter....
