Pass the parcel...

Never once have I got over the (stupid?) pleasure I get when a parcel of goodies arrives on  the doormat.. and this one was no different...

Especially as I knew I had some samples of the Les Higgins figures coming from Old John [clicky]

Getting excited now..

Blimey didn't expect that many?!

Wow!

Bloody double wow!

More detailed look when I have time to put them under the magnifying light, but firstly, the figures are superb, so...  elegant, and second, I'm overwhelmed with the generosity..  I recommend a visit to the web site [clicky] wholeheartedly...

  3. Now you're making me feel old - I bought about 20 of the Higgins' ECW figures when I had a brief flirtation with the period (after a school trip to Marston Moor) many, many years ago. At the time all we were interested in was Airfix WW2!!!

    1. Andy - say things like that and I'll be scared to death to put them on the blog.. they'll be wargaming standard at best compared to some of Lee's and others output...!

  7. Now that's what I call a 'sample pack'. The Higgins range does indeed have lots of character and are nice slim castings. Looks like you already have the best part of your first regiment of horse there!

    1. Lee - almost! He has provided one each of everything in the range I think... with a few duplicates... I recognise some with bonnets (Montrose), there are command figures... artillery crew (lovely - you can see clearly they are wearing loose shirts) .. armoured and unarmoured pike in various positions... same with musketeers.... they really are very nice.

  11. Parcels! I have to hope mine arrive when the Old Bat is out or she demands I buy her something of equivalent value. Fortunately she thinks a box of Perry Miniatures is about £5.
