Electronic Book Library

With the increasing use of Kindle and other electronic book readers I thought it might be useful to start a virtual library of recommended books ... if any of the following links stop working by the way, let me know by leaving a comment on the main blog...

First; I recommend Calibre [click here] for managing your Kindle library - I find it very easy to use - you can manage the device files through the normal Windows Explorer type display, but Calibre allows you to handle multiple files, from multiple sources, and better still it allows you to save files from one source, in a file format that you can use on your reading device..

I also recommend this site here [clicky] new books are added daily, you can filter on specific genres, and all the books are free - mostly from Amazon from what I can tell....

This is a similar site [clicky], both are basically portals to Amazon ..

Thanks to Mike Whitaker also for this site [clicky] which does much the same....

This site [clicky] also does free audio books as well as books for Kindle and other formats....

Also here [clicky] - which has the usual classics but a number of more recent authors... (I downloaded "Homage to Catalonia" and "Down and Out in Paris and London" straight away!)

So - a few suggestions from me to get the series started - all free unless otherwise stated.....
The following free ebooks were suggested by RossMac and are all available in epub or pdf but some are also available in Kindle - if you use Calibre this shouldn't be an issue.
