Steve's Random Musings on Wargaming and other stuff...
Being an account of my wargaming activities, a few sailingstories, some beer related anecdotes, what music I'm listening to....oh, and anything else that knows me!
Ta Ray... maybe you should try the audio version for whiling away the time when you're painting! :o)
Reading it now....started in Dec....27% read!
LJR70 - I have started it a couple of times but never persevered.. how are you finding it??
I read it many years ago and enjoyed it very much . . . but I DO have a strong suggestion for you.Go to your local libraries and read a few pages of several different translator's versions. Many translations of foreign (and particularly Russian) literature are of the "academic" variety. Find a translator who is readable as English; not one of the many who are "correct" but not very readable.A little time spent evaluating translators will serve you well.-- Jeff
Wise words Jeff... I have downloaded a couple of versions and will give guidance via a review if one of them is better
I read it many years ago also. I found it dull... but then, I wasn't a wargamer in those days...
You're a brave man. It should be an interesting read with the background of 1812 etc. but I'm with Moif - it don't half drag!
