Operation Cornichon - Game 2 - "Holding Action (1)"

Escaping towards safety following their previous rude awakening, the French have managed to obtain some transport (lorries) and are moving quickly when their OIC orders a halt and sends out orders that they are to make a stand to (try and) stop the German advance...

Orders of Battle will be as per the end of the previous game...

French

Second section took a bit of a pasting, one way or another for the next game I'll break the section up and divide the troops between the remaining sections...

The French will have Lorries (x2), and in order to provide a little parity the C-in-C has found that they also contain two Anti-Tank rifles - I've also allowed him to have recovered 2nd Sections LMG.

All told then 21 men including the CO, 2 Anti Tank Rifles, 3 LMG's - plus transport....

Germans

No casualties at all from the first skirmish - their surprise was complete...

They are following up in their own transport which consists of a couple of Hanomag's..

All told then 21 men, 6 LMG's (one per section and two per half track), plus the half tracks themselves...

Additional rules
  • Both sides riflemen have grenades - no more than two per man...
  • As per the previous entry - the French haven't had time to dig in seriously, so ground scrapes/light cover only - no fox holes...
Winning Conditions

Whoever controls the pass at the end of the game wins...
