Result!

...they've just started a book loan service in the canteen at work ....  look what I found...   😁

    1. Legatus that has happened to me so many times it has gone beyond embarrasing... I bought three copies of "Dervish: The Rise and Fall of an African Empire" by Philip Warner, because they kept reissuing it with different cover art and I didn't recognise it.. :o)

  2. Tell us what it's like as he has produced so many other books on the subject, so does it have anything new?

    1. Will - he's a serial Zulu author for sure but I have to say I've not read any of his other books - my interests lie more in the the Boer War and (of course) the Sudan, so the only book I've read was the "Washing of the Spears" by Morris (a fair while ago)

  7. Don't worry about forgetting you've already got a book on your shelves - as we age, we'll all soon be able to re-read that book and get the whole first reading experience! It's a win-win, well sort of....
