Colonel John Innes's Regiment of Dragoons.. part the second...

...and after far too long a delay (I was in Kefalonia for a week reclining on a sunbed and supping Alfa/Amstel/Mythos until it came out of my ears.. (what can I say..  you have to stay hydrated in that kind of heat!) as previously promised here are the dismounted version of the dragoons recently added to the project [clicky]..

Colonel John Innes's line a wall in readiness..

...these re a mix...  some Minifigs sourced on eBay and some Peter Pig..  the horses are Peter Pig and some I found in my spares box (Dixon??)

Pleaesd with them...

...and en complait...  lot of painting involved in a dragoon regiment!

  1. Nice look to these. The dismounted horse holder base is a nice touch. Will you be doing one more? Or is this base representative of all the horse holders? The reason I ask is that your eight mounted riders are represented by seven dismounted musket firing figures. Shouldn't that be six if every four horses are being held by one of the riders? I am currently doing an ECW in 28 mm and am encountering the same issue with my dragoons.

    1. Thanks Ray.. Mythos is one of those beers that tastes like horse p*ss anythere other than in 35' heat in Greece.. :o)) Putely in the interest of reasearch you understand I did try the local micro brewery output (https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=el&u=https://www.kefalonianbeer.com/&prev=search) which was OK, Amstel was slightly better, Alfa is everywhere, but we all agreed that this one was best https://www.mamos.gr/img/glass.png

  7. Lovely dismounted types, the horse holder's being representative rather than realistic makes sense to me!

    1. Thanks Iain - I like the fact that it means the dismounted unit have to return to a specific point before they can become mounted again... I may allow a certain amount of movement to the horseholder unit, but it won't be much..

    1. Hi Moif.. dismounted counter was the Peter Pig horse holder pack, with a couple of spare horses from one my bits boxes... the other half of the horseholder pack and another couple of spares horses will get used for the other regiment - which are next on the paint sticks...
