Why?????????

Spotted yesterday in Tesco's (local supermarket for my non-UK readers)

Why on earth would you want to re-issue it??? Along with Watney's Red Barrel these were the most singularly tasteless beers to ever (dis)grace the face of the planet, and almost single-handedly the reason for the foundation of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale)...

Words fail me....

I'm hoping of course that it's just some left over 'set design' from the recent Goodwood Revival!   fighting smileys

  1. Ugh! That spoilt my morning cuppa.

It's owned by Coors now isn't it? Probably they feel that having shut down the national brewing museum without any protest no one will notice if they substitute DD for White Label.

  4. As long as they don't bring back the godawful TV adverts as well that went with it.

  6. Always nice to know I'm in good company - not that I ever doubted it... :o)

Happily I'm increasingly convinced that they were a "prop" left over from the previous weeks Goodwood Revival festival (five Spitfires in the air at the same time on the Sunday apparently!). Tesco had constructed a 60's period version of their shop..

...actually it's worth watching all of it just to being the memories back! :o)

  8. It's the adverts I remember as I didn't drink beer at the time (in fact I was 28 before I had my first beer!)

My favourite was "Whitbread big taste trophy bitter the pint that thinks it's a quart..."
